Prayer Times in Douala, Cameroon

About the times on this page

Anyone praying in Douala faces east-north-east, which works out to around 57°. Makkah lies some 3,782 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

Where these times come from

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

Today's timetable

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 4:53 am. Sunrise at 6:05 am closes that window. Dhuhr 12:05 pm, Asr 4:24 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib is prayed at 6:04 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:34 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 11 hours and 59 minutes.

Suhoor and iftar in Douala

Stop eating by 4:53 am; break the fast at 6:04 pm. That is about 13 hours and 11 minutes on today's times. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

How much the times move

Douala is close enough to the equator that the seasons barely register in the prayer times. Longest day and shortest day differ by very little, and Ramadan feels much the same whichever month it lands in.
