Prayer Times in Freire, Chile

About the times on this page

As things stand today, the first prayer in Freire is at 5:01 am and the last at 9:55 pm. They are not fixed — the sun moves them a little every day, and the page keeps up on its own.

Freire today, prayer by prayer

Fajr opens the day at 5:01 am, well before first light. The window stays open until sunrise, 6:44 am. Dhuhr 1:34 pm, Asr 6:25 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib comes with sunset at 8:25 pm, and Isha closes the day at 9:55 pm. Around 13 hours and 41 minutes of daylight, all told.

What changes between summer and winter

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Freire. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

The fasting day in Freire

The fasting day here runs 5:01 am to 8:25 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 15 hours and 24 minutes. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Qibla from Freire

The qibla from here runs east, a bearing of about 86°. The distance works out to about 13,388 kilometres, or 8,319 miles. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

Nearby cities

Chile has 6 other cities covered on this site. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

Why Dhuhr lands where it does

True midday in Freire arrives some 94 minutes after what the clock reads. That is why Dhuhr sits at 1:34 pm rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

How the times are worked out

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.
