Prayer Times in Voznesensk, Ukraine

Praying in Voznesensk

Voznesensk gets about 10 hours and 6 minutes of daylight today, and the five prayer times are spaced across it. Prayer times are anchored to the sun rather than the clock, so as that figure grows and shrinks across the year, every time below moves with it.

The direction of prayer

Turn south-south-east, about 162°, for the qibla. The distance works out to about 3,006 kilometres, or 1,868 miles. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

The shape of the day

Everything begins with Fajr, 4:48 am today. The sun appears at 6:35 am, which ends the Fajr period. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 11:38 am, and Asr at 2:55 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 4:41 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:11 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 6 minutes.

Fasting hours

Stop eating by 4:48 am; break the fast at 4:41 pm. That is about 11 hours and 53 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

The calculation behind them

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

Through the year

The yearly swing here is substantial. In June, Fajr in Voznesensk can fall in the small hours with Isha holding off until late evening; in December the whole day from Fajr to Isha is over in a short span. Check the monthly timetable rather than assuming last season's times still hold.
