Prayer Times in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai, hour by hour

From Dubai, the qibla points west-south-west — a bearing of about 258° on a compass. Makkah lies some 1,636 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

Dubai today, prayer by prayer

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 5:05 am. Sunrise at 6:25 am closes that window. Dhuhr follows at 12:02 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 4:04 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:40 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:10 pm. Around 11 hours and 15 minutes of daylight, all told.

The calculation behind them

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

The fasting day in Dubai

The fasting day here runs 5:05 am to 5:40 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 35 minutes. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

The yearly swing

Across the year the Dubai timetable shifts by an hour or two at each end — long summer evenings push Isha back, short winter days crowd Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib together.
