Prayer Times in Thạnh Phú, Vietnam

Thạnh Phú prayer times explained

Thạnh Phú currently has about 9 hours and 29 minutes of night, from Isha at 7:01 pm through to Fajr at 4:30 am. That span is what the last third of the night is measured against, so it shifts along with the rest of the timetable through the year.

How much the times move

Thạnh Phú is close enough to the equator that the seasons barely register in the prayer times. Longest day and shortest day differ by very little, and Ramadan feels much the same whichever month it lands in.

The shape of the day

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 4:30 am. The sun appears at 5:44 am, which ends the Fajr period. Midday brings Dhuhr at 11:38 am; Asr comes round at 3:54 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:31 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:01 pm. Around 11 hours and 47 minutes of daylight, all told.

Ramadan timings

The fasting day here runs 4:30 am to 5:31 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 13 hours and 1 minutes. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Qibla from Thạnh Phú

The qibla from here runs west-north-west, a bearing of about 289°. The distance works out to about 7,204 kilometres, or 4,477 miles. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

Where these times come from

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.
