Prayer Times in Lomas de Zamora, Argentina

Lomas de Zamora, hour by hour

Lomas de Zamora is a long way from Makkah — about 12,067 kilometres (7,498 miles) in a straight line. At that range the great-circle route matters: the qibla from here runs east-north-east, about 76°, which surprises people expecting otherwise.

Why Dhuhr lands where it does

True midday in Lomas de Zamora arrives some 37 minutes after what the clock reads. That is why Dhuhr sits at 12:37 pm rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.

A note on the method used

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.
