Prayer times in Depok

Fajr 4:13 am, Maghrib 5:46 pm, Isha 7:16 pm — that is the shape of today in Depok. Those times shift by a minute or two most days as the sun moves, and this page recalculates them every morning rather than holding a fixed list.

The fasting day in Depok

Stop eating by 4:13 am; break the fast at 5:46 pm. That is about 13 hours and 33 minutes on today's times. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

The yearly swing

Depok is close enough to the equator that the seasons barely register in the prayer times. Longest day and shortest day differ by very little, and Ramadan feels much the same whichever month it lands in.

Qibla from Depok

Turn west-north-west, about 295°, for the qibla. The distance works out to about 7,927 kilometres, or 4,925 miles. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

Depok today, prayer by prayer

The first call comes at 4:13 am, for Fajr. By 5:26 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Next is Dhuhr at 11:36 am, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:59 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:46 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:16 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 12 hours and 20 minutes.

How the times are worked out

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.
