Prayer Times in Gharbia, Morocco

What these times mean for Gharbia

The times below are worked out for Gharbia itself, from the city's own coordinates (35.52° N, 5.93° W). Two towns an hour apart see the sun rise at different moments, and since Fajr and Maghrib follow the sun rather than the clock, those minutes carry straight through to the timetable.

The shape of the day

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:15 am. The window stays open until sunrise, 6:43 am. Next is Dhuhr at 12:07 pm, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:52 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 5:31 pm; Isha is the last, at 7:01 pm. That is some 10 hours and 48 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

The last third of the night

Between Isha at 7:01 pm and Fajr at 5:15 am there are about 10 hours and 14 minutes. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.

Through the year

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Gharbia. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

If you are fasting

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 5:15 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 5:31 pm. Around 12 hours and 16 minutes without food or water today. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Lining up with the Kaaba

Face east — roughly 97° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. That puts the Kaaba roughly 4,692 km — 2,915 miles — from here.

The calculation behind them

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.
