Prayer Times in Bursa, Turkey

Bursa prayer times explained

The night in Bursa runs about 10 hours and 22 minutes at the moment — Isha at 7:34 pm to Fajr at 5:56 am. That span is what the last third of the night is measured against, so it shifts along with the rest of the timetable through the year.

Through the year

The yearly swing here is substantial. In June, Fajr in Bursa can fall in the small hours with Isha holding off until late evening; in December the whole day from Fajr to Isha is over in a short span. Check the monthly timetable rather than assuming last season's times still hold.

A quirk of the timezone

Solar noon in Bursa falls about 47 minutes after twelve o'clock. Hence Dhuhr at 12:47 pm, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.

The shape of the day

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 5:56 am. You have until 7:31 am, when the sun comes up. Dhuhr 12:47 pm, Asr 4:23 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 6:04 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 7:34 pm. That gives Bursa roughly 10 hours and 33 minutes of daylight today.

Lining up with the Kaaba

From this city the direction is south-south-east, or 151° if you prefer the number. That puts the Kaaba roughly 2,321 km — 1,442 miles — from here. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

For tahajjud

From Isha to Fajr is around 10 hours and 22 minutes at the moment. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

How the times are worked out

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

Fasting hours

Suhoor closes at 5:56 am in Bursa, with iftar at 6:04 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 8 minutes, going by today's figures. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.
