Prayer Times in Tömük, Turkey

Tömük, hour by hour

Tömük currently has about 10 hours and 14 minutes of night, from Isha at 7:19 pm through to Fajr at 5:33 am. Everything else on this page hangs off the same two points: when the sun sets and when it comes back.

The direction of prayer

Turn south-south-east, about 161°, for the qibla. The distance works out to about 1,775 kilometres, or 1,103 miles. If you are marking a permanent direction in a room, check true north rather than trusting a phone compass alone.

The fasting day in Tömük

Stop eating by 5:33 am; break the fast at 5:49 pm. That is about 12 hours and 16 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Season by season in Tömük

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Tömük. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

A quirk of the timezone

Solar noon in Tömük falls about 26 minutes after twelve o'clock. That is why Dhuhr sits at 12:26 pm rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. This catches people out regularly, but prayer follows the sun, and the clock is only the label we put on it.

A walk through today's times

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:33 am. You have until 7:03 am, when the sun comes up. Dhuhr follows at 12:26 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 4:10 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:49 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:19 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 46 minutes.

How the times are worked out

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

For tahajjud

Tömük gets roughly 10 hours and 14 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.
