Prayer Times in Caracas, Venezuela

Praying in Caracas

There are around 11,271 kilometres (7,004 miles) between Caracas and Makkah. Over that distance the shortest path curves noticeably, which is why the qibla here points east-north-east (65°) rather than the direction a flat map would suggest.

Where these times come from

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

Ramadan timings

Suhoor closes at 5:05 am in Caracas, with iftar at 6:04 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 59 minutes, going by today's figures. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

Caracas today, prayer by prayer

Fajr opens the day at 5:05 am, well before first light. You have until 6:19 am, when the sun comes up. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 12:11 pm, and Asr at 4:26 pm. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 6:04 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 7:34 pm. That gives Caracas roughly 11 hours and 45 minutes of daylight today.

What changes between summer and winter

Near the equator the timetable is remarkably stable. Caracas sees close to twelve hours of daylight in every month, so Fajr and Maghrib move by minutes rather than hours across the year.
