Prayer Times in Baku, Azerbaijan

What these times mean for Baku

Facing the Kaaba from Baku means turning south-south-west, roughly 207°. Makkah lies some 2,309 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

A walk through today's times

Fajr opens the day at 5:32 am, well before first light. You have until 7:07 am, when the sun comes up. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 12:24 pm, and Asr at 4:01 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:42 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:12 pm. Around 10 hours and 35 minutes of daylight, all told.

Through the year

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Baku. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

Suhoor and iftar in Baku

The fasting day here runs 5:32 am to 5:42 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 10 minutes. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.
