Prayer Times in Anzoátegui, Colombia

Praying in Anzoátegui

Everything on this page is calculated for Anzoátegui, Colombia specifically, using the position 4.63° N, 75.09° W. It is a small distinction that matters in practice: the sun does not arrive everywhere in a country at once.

What changes between summer and winter

Near the equator the timetable is remarkably stable. Anzoátegui sees close to twelve hours of daylight in every month, so Fajr and Maghrib move by minutes rather than hours across the year.

Which way to face in Anzoátegui

The qibla from here runs east-north-east, a bearing of about 65°. Makkah is around 12,364 kilometres (7,683 miles) away in a straight line. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

Elsewhere in Colombia

Colombia has 10 other cities covered on this site. The list under the timetable below will take you to any of them.

From Fajr to Isha

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 4:32 am. By 5:45 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Midday brings Dhuhr at 11:44 am; Asr comes round at 4:03 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:43 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:13 pm. Around 11 hours and 58 minutes of daylight, all told.

The fasting day in Anzoátegui

The fasting day here runs 4:32 am to 5:43 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 13 hours and 11 minutes. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

The calculation behind them

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.
