Prayer Times in Cali, Colombia

About the times on this page

Today in Cali, Fajr is at 4:37 am and the day closes with Isha at 7:20 pm. Each of them moves slightly from one day to the next; the page rebuilds daily, so what you see is current.

Suhoor and iftar in Cali

Stop eating by 4:37 am; break the fast at 5:50 pm. That is about 13 hours and 13 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Cali today, prayer by prayer

Everything begins with Fajr, 4:37 am today. The sun appears at 5:50 am, which ends the Fajr period. Dhuhr follows at 11:50 am once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 4:09 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:50 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:20 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 12 hours.

How the times are worked out

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

For tahajjud

Between Isha at 7:20 pm and Fajr at 4:37 am there are about 9 hours and 17 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

Which way to face in Cali

Turn east-north-east, about 65°, for the qibla. Makkah is around 12,563 kilometres (7,806 miles) away in a straight line. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

How much the times move

There is not much of a yearly swing here. Daylight hovers around twelve hours all year in Cali, keeping the whole timetable within a narrow band.
