Prayer Times in Tabrīz, Iran

Tabrīz prayer times explained

Facing the Kaaba from Tabrīz means turning south-south-west, roughly 200°. Makkah lies some 1,953 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

How the times are worked out

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

If you are fasting

Suhoor closes at 5:16 am in Tabrīz, with iftar at 5:29 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 13 minutes, going by today's figures. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Season by season in Tabrīz

The yearly swing here is substantial. In June, Fajr in Tabrīz can fall in the small hours with Isha holding off until late evening; in December the whole day from Fajr to Isha is over in a short span. Check the monthly timetable rather than assuming last season's times still hold.

How the day runs in Tabrīz

Fajr is at 5:16 am — early, and in darkness. You have until 6:47 am, when the sun comes up. Midday brings Dhuhr at 12:09 pm; Asr comes round at 3:50 pm. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 5:29 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 6:59 pm. That gives Tabrīz roughly 10 hours and 42 minutes of daylight today.
