Prayer Times in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland

About the times on this page

There is no such thing as a typical prayer day in Dąbrowa Górnicza — the times move too much across the year for that. Summer brings very early Fajr times and a late Isha; in December, Maghrib arrives while the afternoon still feels young.

Ramadan timings

The fasting day here runs 4:35 am to 4:25 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 11 hours and 50 minutes. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

Finding the qibla

The qibla from here runs south-east, a bearing of about 143°. The distance works out to about 3,685 kilometres, or 2,290 miles.

From Fajr to Isha

Fajr is at 4:35 am — early, and in darkness. You have until 6:28 am, when the sun comes up. Next is Dhuhr at 11:27 am, then Asr in the afternoon at 2:37 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 4:25 pm, and Isha closes the day at 5:55 pm. Around 9 hours and 57 minutes of daylight, all told.

Clock time and solar time

Solar noon in Dąbrowa Górnicza falls about 33 minutes before twelve o'clock. It explains the 11:27 am Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.
