Prayer Times in Ruda Śląska, Poland

Ruda Śląska, hour by hour

Anyone praying in Ruda Śląska faces south-east, which works out to around 143°. The Kaaba is about 3,699 kilometres off; the timetable below comes from this city's own coordinates.

Method and madhab

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

A quirk of the timezone

The sun reaches its high point roughly 32 minutes before noon here. It explains the 11:28 am Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

The yearly swing

There is a caveat to the summer timetable in Ruda Śląska. For several weeks around the solstice the sun does not dip deep enough for a true Fajr or Isha, and the calculated values become estimates. Local scholarly guidance takes over in that period.
