Prayer Times in Marieville, Canada

Prayer times in Marieville

Anyone praying in Marieville faces east-north-east, which works out to around 59°. Makkah lies some 9,975 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

The last third of the night

Between Isha at 7:13 pm and Fajr at 5:47 am there are about 10 hours and 34 minutes. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

A note on the method used

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

The yearly swing

Marieville sees a large seasonal spread — very early summer Fajr times, a very late Isha, then a tightly packed winter day. The month view below is the reliable way to keep track.

A walk through today's times

Everything begins with Fajr, 5:47 am today. By 7:29 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 12:36 pm, and Asr at 3:58 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:43 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:13 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 14 minutes.

Clock time and solar time

True midday in Marieville arrives some 36 minutes after what the clock reads. It explains the 12:36 pm Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. This catches people out regularly, but prayer follows the sun, and the clock is only the label we put on it.

Suhoor and iftar in Marieville

Stop eating by 5:47 am; break the fast at 5:43 pm. That is about 11 hours and 56 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.
