Prayer Times in San Fernando de Henares, Spain

What these times mean for San Fernando de Henares

From San Fernando de Henares, the qibla points east-south-east — a bearing of about 104° on a compass. Makkah lies some 4,585 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

The night in between

Between Isha at 7:43 pm and Fajr at 6:07 am there are about 10 hours and 24 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

The fasting day in San Fernando de Henares

Stop eating by 6:07 am; break the fast at 6:13 pm. That is about 12 hours and 6 minutes on today's times. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

The calculation behind them

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

How much the times move

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in San Fernando de Henares. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

Why Dhuhr lands where it does

The sun reaches its high point roughly 58 minutes after noon here. Hence Dhuhr at 12:58 pm, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

How the day runs in San Fernando de Henares

Everything begins with Fajr, 6:07 am today. The sun appears at 7:41 am, which ends the Fajr period. Dhuhr follows at 12:58 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 4:33 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 6:13 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:43 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 32 minutes.
