Prayer Times in Valencia, Spain

Prayer times in Valencia

People new to Valencia tend to notice the same thing — midday on the clock is nowhere near midday in the sky. The sun reaches its highest point roughly 45 minutes after noon, which is why Dhuhr is listed at 12:45 pm.

Ramadan timings

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 5:53 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 6:04 pm. Around 12 hours and 11 minutes without food or water today. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

What changes between summer and winter

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Valencia. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

The shape of the day

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:53 am. Sunrise at 7:26 am closes that window. Dhuhr follows at 12:45 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 4:24 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 6:04 pm; Isha is the last, at 7:34 pm. That is some 10 hours and 38 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Qibla from Valencia

Face east-south-east — roughly 106° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. The distance works out to about 4,297 kilometres, or 2,670 miles. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

Method and madhab

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.
