Prayer Times in Earlestown, United Kingdom

Earlestown prayer times explained

Earlestown, United Kingdom gets its own calculation here, run from the coordinates 53.45° N, 2.65° W rather than borrowed from a larger city nearby. Two towns an hour apart see the sun rise at different moments, and since Fajr and Maghrib follow the sun rather than the clock, those minutes carry straight through to the timetable.

Today's timetable

Fajr is at 5:02 am — early, and in darkness. The window stays open until sunrise, 7:04 am. Dhuhr 11:54 am, Asr 2:53 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 4:44 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 6:14 pm. That gives Earlestown roughly 9 hours and 40 minutes of daylight today.

If you are travelling

There are 20 more United Kingdom cities here, and each has its own times rather than sharing Earlestown's. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

How the times are worked out

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.
