Prayer Times in Gorseinon, United Kingdom

Gorseinon, hour by hour

As things stand today, the first prayer in Gorseinon is at 5:08 am and the last at 6:24 pm. Each of them moves slightly from one day to the next; the page rebuilds daily, so what you see is current.

The direction of prayer

Turn east-south-east, about 115°, for the qibla. That puts the Kaaba roughly 5,042 km — 3,133 miles — from here. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

Where these times come from

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

How much the times move

Gorseinon is far enough north that calculated Fajr and Isha times become unreliable around midsummer, when twilight lasts all night. Most communities this far up adopt a local ruling for those weeks; ask at your mosque. Outside that stretch, the ordinary calculation applies.

From Fajr to Isha

Everything begins with Fajr, 5:08 am today. The sun appears at 7:05 am, which ends the Fajr period. Dhuhr 12:00 pm, Asr 3:05 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib is prayed at 4:54 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:24 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 9 hours and 49 minutes.

The fasting day in Gorseinon

Stop eating by 5:08 am; break the fast at 4:54 pm. That is about 11 hours and 46 minutes on today's times. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

For tahajjud

Gorseinon gets roughly 10 hours and 44 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.
