Prayer Times in Isesaki, Japan

Isesaki, hour by hour

There are around 10 hours and 45 minutes between sunrise and sunset in Isesaki today. Prayer times are anchored to the sun rather than the clock, so as that figure grows and shrinks across the year, every time below moves with it.

Through the year

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Isesaki. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

Fasting hours

Suhoor closes at 4:34 am in Isesaki, with iftar at 4:49 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 15 minutes, going by today's figures. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

The direction of prayer

From this city the direction is west-north-west, or 293° if you prefer the number. That puts the Kaaba roughly 9,407 km — 5,845 miles — from here. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

A note on the method used

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

Today's timetable

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 4:34 am. The window stays open until sunrise, 6:04 am. Dhuhr 11:27 am, Asr 3:11 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 4:49 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 6:19 pm. That gives Isesaki roughly 10 hours and 45 minutes of daylight today.

A quirk of the timezone

True midday in Isesaki arrives some 33 minutes before what the clock reads. Hence Dhuhr at 11:27 am, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.
