Prayer Times in Looc, Philippines

The prayer day in Looc

The night in Looc runs about 9 hours and 34 minutes at the moment — Isha at 6:57 pm to Fajr at 4:31 am. Everything else on this page hangs off the same two points: when the sun sets and when it comes back.

Today's timetable

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 4:31 am. You have until 5:45 am, when the sun comes up. Next is Dhuhr at 11:36 am, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:50 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 5:27 pm; Isha is the last, at 6:57 pm. That is some 11 hours and 42 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Lining up with the Kaaba

Face west-north-west — roughly 290° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. That puts the Kaaba roughly 8,715 km — 5,415 miles — from here. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

How much the times move

Near the equator the timetable is remarkably stable. Looc sees close to twelve hours of daylight in every month, so Fajr and Maghrib move by minutes rather than hours across the year.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Ramadan timings

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 4:31 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 5:27 pm. Around 12 hours and 56 minutes without food or water today. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.
