Prayer Times in Real, Philippines

Real, hour by hour

Between the last prayer of one day and the first of the next, Real gets roughly 9 hours and 38 minutes of darkness. Everything else on this page hangs off the same two points: when the sun sets and when it comes back.

The last third of the night

Between Isha at 6:56 pm and Fajr at 4:34 am there are about 9 hours and 38 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

The shape of the day

The first call comes at 4:34 am, for Fajr. By 5:48 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Dhuhr follows at 11:37 am once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 3:50 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 5:26 pm; Isha is the last, at 6:56 pm. That is some 11 hours and 38 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Where these times come from

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Finding the qibla

Face west-north-west — roughly 289° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. The distance works out to about 8,586 kilometres, or 5,335 miles.

The yearly swing

Near the equator the timetable is remarkably stable. Real sees close to twelve hours of daylight in every month, so Fajr and Maghrib move by minutes rather than hours across the year.

Ramadan timings

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 4:34 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 5:26 pm. Around 12 hours and 52 minutes without food or water today. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.
