What these times mean for Kirovo-Chepetsk

Kirovo-Chepetsk, Russia gets its own calculation here, run from the coordinates 58.55° N, 50.02° E rather than borrowed from a larger city nearby. It is a small distinction that matters in practice: the sun does not arrive everywhere in a country at once.

Season by season in Kirovo-Chepetsk

There is a caveat to the summer timetable in Kirovo-Chepetsk. For several weeks around the solstice the sun does not dip deep enough for a true Fajr or Isha, and the calculated values become estimates. Local scholarly guidance takes over in that period.

Clock time and solar time

Solar noon in Kirovo-Chepetsk falls about 36 minutes before twelve o'clock. That is why Dhuhr sits at 11:24 am rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. This catches people out regularly, but prayer follows the sun, and the clock is only the label we put on it.

Method and madhab

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

If you are travelling
