Prayer Times in Mutsalaul, Russia

Mutsalaul, hour by hour

Everything on this page is calculated for Mutsalaul, Russia specifically, using the position 43.28° N, 46.73° E. Two towns an hour apart see the sun rise at different moments, and since Fajr and Maghrib follow the sun rather than the clock, those minutes carry straight through to the timetable.

Finding the qibla

The qibla from here runs south-south-west, a bearing of about 197°. Makkah is around 2,513 kilometres (1,561 miles) away in a straight line. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

What changes between summer and winter

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Mutsalaul. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

A walk through today's times

Fajr is at 4:49 am — early, and in darkness. The window stays open until sunrise, 6:28 am. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 11:37 am, and Asr at 3:03 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 4:45 pm, and Isha closes the day at 6:15 pm. Around 10 hours and 17 minutes of daylight, all told.

The fasting day in Mutsalaul

The fasting day here runs 4:49 am to 4:45 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 11 hours and 56 minutes. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

The calculation behind them

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

For tahajjud

Between Isha at 6:15 pm and Fajr at 4:49 am there are about 10 hours and 34 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.
