Prayer Times in Proletarsk, Russia

About the times on this page

Proletarsk currently has about 10 hours and 32 minutes of night, from Isha at 6:33 pm through to Fajr at 5:05 am. Everything else on this page hangs off the same two points: when the sun sets and when it comes back.

A note on the method used

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

Which way to face in Proletarsk

Turn south, about 184°, for the qibla. That puts the Kaaba roughly 2,816 km — 1,750 miles — from here. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

The night in between

Between Isha at 6:33 pm and Fajr at 5:05 am there are about 10 hours and 32 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

Fasting hours

Stop eating by 5:05 am; break the fast at 5:03 pm. That is about 11 hours and 58 minutes on today's times. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

The yearly swing
