Prayer Times in Paris, France

What these times mean for Paris

Fajr 5:44 am, Maghrib 5:34 pm, Isha 7:04 pm — that is the shape of today in Paris. Those times shift by a minute or two most days as the sun moves, and this page recalculates them every morning rather than holding a fixed list.

The shape of the day

Everything begins with Fajr, 5:44 am today. Sunrise at 7:34 am closes that window. Next is Dhuhr at 12:34 pm, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:48 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 5:34 pm; Isha is the last, at 7:04 pm. That is some 10 hours between the sun coming up and going down.

The clock against the sun

The sun reaches its high point roughly 34 minutes after noon here. Hence Dhuhr at 12:34 pm, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.

Finding the qibla

Face east-south-east — roughly 119° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. That puts the Kaaba roughly 4,496 km — 2,794 miles — from here.

How much the times move

There is a caveat to the summer timetable in Paris. For several weeks around the solstice the sun does not dip deep enough for a true Fajr or Isha, and the calculated values become estimates. Local scholarly guidance takes over in that period.

The fasting day in Paris

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 5:44 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 5:34 pm. Around 11 hours and 50 minutes without food or water today. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

Isha to Fajr

Paris gets roughly 10 hours and 40 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

A note on the method used

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.
