Prayer Times in Rome, Italy

About the times on this page

There are around 10 hours and 24 minutes between Isha and Fajr in Rome just now. The whole timetable below follows the same movement — as the nights lengthen, every time on the page moves with them.

A note on the method used

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

The night in between

Rome gets roughly 10 hours and 24 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

Nearby cities

There are 23 more Italy cities here, and each has its own times rather than sharing Rome's. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

Through the year

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Rome. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

Ramadan timings

Stop eating by 5:02 am; break the fast at 5:08 pm. That is about 12 hours and 6 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Finding the qibla

Turn east-south-east, about 123°, for the qibla. The distance works out to about 3,419 kilometres, or 2,124 miles. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

A walk through today's times

The first call comes at 5:02 am, for Fajr. The window stays open until sunrise, 6:39 am. Next is Dhuhr at 11:54 am, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:27 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:08 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:38 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 29 minutes.
