Prayer Times in Itaosy, Madagascar

The prayer day in Itaosy

Itaosy gets about 12 hours and 47 minutes of daylight today, and the five prayer times are spaced across it. Prayer times are anchored to the sun rather than the clock, so as that figure grows and shrinks across the year, every time below moves with it.

Season by season in Itaosy

The seasons show here without dominating. Summer in Itaosy brings earlier Fajr times and a later Isha; winter pulls everything inward, and Maghrib can arrive while the afternoon still feels unfinished. Expect an hour or two of movement between the extremes.

The last third of the night

Itaosy gets roughly 8 hours and 24 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

If you are travelling

There are 14 more Madagascar cities here, and each has its own times rather than sharing Itaosy's. The list under the timetable below will take you to any of them.

Ramadan timings

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 3:51 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 5:57 pm. Around 14 hours and 6 minutes without food or water today. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

A note on the method used

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Clock time and solar time

The sun reaches its high point roughly 26 minutes before noon here. Hence Dhuhr at 11:34 am, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.

Today's timetable

Everything begins with Fajr, 3:51 am today. The window stays open until sunrise, 5:10 am. Next is Dhuhr at 11:34 am, then Asr in the afternoon at 4:03 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 5:57 pm; Isha is the last, at 7:27 pm. That is some 12 hours and 47 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Lining up with the Kaaba

Face north — roughly 349° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. That puts the Kaaba roughly 4,562 km — 2,835 miles — from here.
