Prayer Times in Lohariandava, Madagascar

Lohariandava, hour by hour

Season by season in Lohariandava

The seasons show here without dominating. Summer in Lohariandava brings earlier Fajr times and a later Isha; winter pulls everything inward, and Maghrib can arrive while the afternoon still feels unfinished. Expect an hour or two of movement between the extremes.

Why Dhuhr lands where it does

True midday in Lohariandava arrives some 31 minutes before what the clock reads. It explains the 11:29 am Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

The direction of prayer

Face north-north-west — roughly 347° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. Makkah is around 4,572 kilometres (2,841 miles) away in a straight line. If you are marking a permanent direction in a room, check true north rather than trusting a phone compass alone.

A note on the method used

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.
