Prayer Times in Anshan, China

The prayer day in Anshan

The direction of prayer from Anshan is west-north-west, or 282° if you are using a compass app. The Kaaba is about 7,908 kilometres off; the timetable below comes from this city's own coordinates.

The shape of the day

Everything begins with Fajr, 4:40 am today. The window stays open until sunrise, 6:15 am. Dhuhr follows at 11:32 am once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 3:07 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 4:48 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:18 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 33 minutes.

The calculation behind them

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

The fasting day in Anshan

Stop eating by 4:40 am; break the fast at 4:48 pm. That is about 12 hours and 8 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

The yearly swing

The yearly swing here is substantial. In June, Fajr in Anshan can fall in the small hours with Isha holding off until late evening; in December the whole day from Fajr to Isha is over in a short span. Check the monthly timetable rather than assuming last season's times still hold.

The clock against the sun

Solar noon in Anshan falls about 28 minutes before twelve o'clock. It explains the 11:32 am Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.
