Prayer Times in Foshan, China

What these times mean for Foshan

Foshan currently has about 9 hours and 52 minutes of night, from Isha at 7:21 pm through to Fajr at 5:13 am. Everything else on this page hangs off the same two points: when the sun sets and when it comes back.

If you are fasting

Suhoor closes at 5:13 am in Foshan, with iftar at 5:51 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 38 minutes, going by today's figures. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

Where these times come from

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

From Fajr to Isha

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 5:13 am. You have until 6:31 am, when the sun comes up. Midday brings Dhuhr at 12:11 pm; Asr comes round at 4:15 pm. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 5:51 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 7:21 pm. That gives Foshan roughly 11 hours and 20 minutes of daylight today.

Lining up with the Kaaba

From this city the direction is west-north-west, or 285° if you prefer the number. Makkah is around 7,460 kilometres (4,635 miles) away in a straight line.

How much the times move

Across the year the Foshan timetable shifts by an hour or two at each end — long summer evenings push Isha back, short winter days crowd Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib together.

Elsewhere in China

180 other cities in China are listed on this site, each with its own calculated timetable. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.
