Prayer Times in Chaozhou, China

Chaozhou, hour by hour

Facing the Kaaba from Chaozhou means turning west-north-west, roughly 285°. The Kaaba is about 7,789 kilometres off; the timetable below comes from this city's own coordinates.

The yearly swing

Across the year the Chaozhou timetable shifts by an hour or two at each end — long summer evenings push Isha back, short winter days crowd Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib together.

Where these times come from

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

Today's timetable

Everything begins with Fajr, 5:00 am today. By 6:18 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Dhuhr 11:57 am, Asr 3:59 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib is prayed at 5:35 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:05 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 11 hours and 17 minutes.

Fasting hours

Stop eating by 5:00 am; break the fast at 5:35 pm. That is about 12 hours and 35 minutes on today's times. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.
