Prayer Times in Basuo, China

Praying in Basuo

These are Basuo's own prayer times, not a regional approximation — they come from the coordinates 19.10° N, 108.64° E. Two towns an hour apart see the sun rise at different moments, and since Fajr and Maghrib follow the sun rather than the clock, those minutes carry straight through to the timetable.

Method and madhab

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

The shape of the day

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 5:29 am. You have until 6:45 am, when the sun comes up. Midday brings Dhuhr at 12:29 pm; Asr comes round at 4:37 pm. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 6:13 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 7:43 pm. That gives Basuo roughly 11 hours and 28 minutes of daylight today.

The clock against the sun

True midday in Basuo arrives some 29 minutes after what the clock reads. Hence Dhuhr at 12:29 pm, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.

The direction of prayer

From this city the direction is west-north-west, or 285° if you prefer the number. Makkah is around 7,123 kilometres (4,426 miles) away in a straight line.

Suhoor and iftar in Basuo

Suhoor closes at 5:29 am in Basuo, with iftar at 6:13 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 44 minutes, going by today's figures. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

The yearly swing

Across the year the Basuo timetable shifts by an hour or two at each end — long summer evenings push Isha back, short winter days crowd Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib together.
