Prayer Times in Chifeng, China

What these times mean for Chifeng

There is no national timetable behind this page — Chifeng's times come from Chifeng's own position, 42.26° N, 118.88° E. The difference between one town and the next is only minutes, but those minutes are the whole of Fajr and Maghrib.

From Fajr to Isha

Everything begins with Fajr, 4:57 am today. By 6:35 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Next is Dhuhr at 11:48 am, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:19 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:01 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:31 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 26 minutes.

Season by season in Chifeng

The yearly swing here is substantial. In June, Fajr in Chifeng can fall in the small hours with Isha holding off until late evening; in December the whole day from Fajr to Isha is over in a short span. Check the monthly timetable rather than assuming last season's times still hold.

Other China timetables

There are 180 more China cities here, and each has its own times rather than sharing Chifeng's. The list under the timetable below will take you to any of them.

The direction of prayer

Turn west, about 279°, for the qibla. Makkah is around 7,549 kilometres (4,691 miles) away in a straight line.

Isha to Fajr

Chifeng gets roughly 10 hours and 26 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

Ramadan timings

Stop eating by 4:57 am; break the fast at 5:01 pm. That is about 12 hours and 4 minutes on today's times. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Method and madhab

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.
