Prayer Times in Dalian, China

Praying in Dalian

Facing the Kaaba from Dalian means turning west-north-west, roughly 282°. That is roughly 7,845 kilometres in a straight line. The times themselves are worked out from the city's exact position.

Method and madhab

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

Dalian today, prayer by prayer

Fajr is at 4:48 am — early, and in darkness. Sunrise at 6:20 am closes that window. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 11:37 am, and Asr at 3:14 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 4:54 pm, and Isha closes the day at 6:24 pm. Around 10 hours and 34 minutes of daylight, all told.

Through the year

Dalian sees a large seasonal spread — very early summer Fajr times, a very late Isha, then a tightly packed winter day. The month view below is the reliable way to keep track.

Ramadan timings

The fasting day here runs 4:48 am to 4:54 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 6 minutes. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.
