Prayer Times in Jining, China

Jining prayer times explained

Jining, China gets its own calculation here, run from the coordinates 41.03° N, 113.11° E rather than borrowed from a larger city nearby. Sunrise and sunset shift by a few minutes between neighbouring towns, and the prayer times move with them.

What changes between summer and winter

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Jining. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

Lining up with the Kaaba

From this city the direction is west, or 276° if you prefer the number. Makkah is around 7,092 kilometres (4,407 miles) away in a straight line.

Fasting hours

Suhoor closes at 5:20 am in Jining, with iftar at 5:26 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 6 minutes, going by today's figures. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

The calculation behind them

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.
