Prayer Times in Jiujiang, China

Jiujiang prayer times explained

Fajr 5:05 am, Maghrib 5:30 pm, Isha 7:00 pm — that is the shape of today in Jiujiang. Those times shift by a minute or two most days as the sun moves, and this page recalculates them every morning rather than holding a fixed list.

Isha to Fajr

From Isha to Fajr is around 10 hours and 5 minutes at the moment. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.

What changes between summer and winter

Jiujiang sits far enough from the equator for the difference to be felt. Midsummer stretches the day, midwinter compresses it, and the prayer times follow.

A walk through today's times

Everything begins with Fajr, 5:05 am today. Sunrise at 6:28 am closes that window. Next is Dhuhr at 12:00 pm, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:54 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:30 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:00 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 11 hours and 2 minutes.

Elsewhere in China

There are 180 more China cities here, and each has its own times rather than sharing Jiujiang's. The list under the timetable below will take you to any of them.

Where these times come from

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.
