Prayer Times in Luohe, China

The prayer day in Luohe

There are around 10 hours and 53 minutes between sunrise and sunset in Luohe today. None of the five are fixed to the clock — they follow the sun, and the sun keeps different hours in every month.

Elsewhere in China

180 other cities in China are listed on this site, each with its own calculated timetable. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

What changes between summer and winter

Luohe sits far enough from the equator for the difference to be felt. Midsummer stretches the day, midwinter compresses it, and the prayer times follow.

Finding the qibla

Turn west, about 280°, for the qibla. Makkah is around 7,292 kilometres (4,531 miles) away in a straight line.

Luohe today, prayer by prayer

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:14 am. You have until 6:41 am, when the sun comes up. Midday brings Dhuhr at 12:08 pm; Asr comes round at 3:56 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:34 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 7:04 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 53 minutes.

The last third of the night

Luohe gets roughly 10 hours and 10 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

If you are fasting

Stop eating by 5:14 am; break the fast at 5:34 pm. That is about 12 hours and 20 minutes on today's times. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.
