What changes between summer and winter

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Qinhuangdao. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

The shape of the day

The first call comes at 4:55 am, for Fajr. You have until 6:29 am, when the sun comes up. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 11:45 am, and Asr at 3:21 pm. Maghrib is prayed at 5:01 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:31 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 10 hours and 32 minutes.

A note on the method used

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.
