Prayer Times in Shijiazhuang, China

About the times on this page

Shijiazhuang gets about 10 hours and 43 minutes of daylight today, and the five prayer times are spaced across it. None of the five are fixed to the clock — they follow the sun, and the sun keeps different hours in every month.

The direction of prayer

From this city the direction is west, or 279° if you prefer the number. The distance works out to about 7,255 kilometres, or 4,508 miles. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

The yearly swing

Shijiazhuang sees a large seasonal spread — very early summer Fajr times, a very late Isha, then a tightly packed winter day. The month view below is the reliable way to keep track.

The shape of the day

Fajr opens the day at 5:13 am, well before first light. The sun appears at 6:44 am, which ends the Fajr period. Dhuhr follows at 12:06 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 3:47 pm. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 5:27 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 6:57 pm. That gives Shijiazhuang roughly 10 hours and 43 minutes of daylight today.

The fasting day in Shijiazhuang

Suhoor closes at 5:13 am in Shijiazhuang, with iftar at 5:27 pm. Roughly 12 hours and 14 minutes, going by today's figures. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

The calculation behind them

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.
