Prayer Times in Shiquanhe, China

About the times on this page

Shiquanhe currently has about 10 hours and 9 minutes of night, from Isha at 9:21 pm through to Fajr at 7:30 am. Everything else on this page hangs off the same two points: when the sun sets and when it comes back.

Lining up with the Kaaba

Face west — roughly 263° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. That puts the Kaaba roughly 4,150 km — 2,578 miles — from here.

From Fajr to Isha

The first call comes at 7:30 am, for Fajr. The sun appears at 8:55 am, which ends the Fajr period. Midday brings Dhuhr at 2:23 pm; Asr comes round at 6:14 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 7:51 pm; Isha is the last, at 9:21 pm. That is some 10 hours and 56 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

A note on the method used

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Clock time and solar time

The sun reaches its high point roughly 143 minutes after noon here. It explains the 2:23 pm Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

The last third of the night

Shiquanhe gets roughly 10 hours and 9 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.

What changes between summer and winter

Across the year the Shiquanhe timetable shifts by an hour or two at each end — long summer evenings push Isha back, short winter days crowd Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib together.
