Prayer Times in Weifen, China

Praying in Weifen

Anyone praying in Weifen faces west, which works out to around 276°. Makkah lies some 6,955 kilometres away, and the times on this page are calculated for this city specifically rather than for the country as a whole.

The night in between

Weifen gets roughly 10 hours and 21 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

The calculation behind them

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

How much the times move

Weifen sees a large seasonal spread — very early summer Fajr times, a very late Isha, then a tightly packed winter day. The month view below is the reliable way to keep track.

Fasting hours

The fasting day here runs 5:28 am to 5:37 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 9 minutes. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

From Fajr to Isha

Fajr opens the day at 5:28 am, well before first light. Sunrise at 7:00 am closes that window. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 12:19 pm, and Asr at 3:57 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:37 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:07 pm. Around 10 hours and 37 minutes of daylight, all told.
