Prayer Times in Xiamen, China

What these times mean for Xiamen

As things stand today, the first prayer in Xiamen is at 4:54 am and the last at 6:59 pm. Those times shift by a minute or two most days as the sun moves, and this page recalculates them every morning rather than holding a fixed list.

Today's timetable

Everything begins with Fajr, 4:54 am today. Sunrise at 6:14 am closes that window. Dhuhr follows at 11:51 am once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 3:53 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 5:29 pm; Isha is the last, at 6:59 pm. That is some 11 hours and 15 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

The calculation used here is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

The direction of prayer

Through the year

Xiamen sits far enough from the equator for the difference to be felt. Midsummer stretches the day, midwinter compresses it, and the prayer times follow.
