Prayer Times in Bopfingen, Germany

Bopfingen prayer times explained

As things stand today, the first prayer in Bopfingen is at 5:11 am and the last at 6:33 pm. They are not fixed — the sun moves them a little every day, and the page keeps up on its own.

Lining up with the Kaaba

The qibla from here runs south-east, a bearing of about 129°. Makkah is around 4,011 kilometres (2,492 miles) away in a straight line. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

Method and madhab

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

Fasting hours

The fasting day here runs 5:11 am to 5:03 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 11 hours and 52 minutes. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

The shape of the day

Fajr opens the day at 5:11 am, well before first light. Sunrise at 7:00 am closes that window. Dhuhr follows at 12:02 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 3:17 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:03 pm, and Isha closes the day at 6:33 pm. Around 10 hours and 3 minutes of daylight, all told.

How much the times move

There is a caveat to the summer timetable in Bopfingen. For several weeks around the solstice the sun does not dip deep enough for a true Fajr or Isha, and the calculated values become estimates. Local scholarly guidance takes over in that period.

For tahajjud

Between Isha at 6:33 pm and Fajr at 5:11 am there are about 10 hours and 38 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.
