There are around 10 hours and 57 minutes between Isha and Fajr in Neumünster just now. That span is what the last third of the night is measured against, so it shifts along with the rest of the timetable through the year.

The fasting day in Neumünster

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 5:15 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 4:48 pm. Around 11 hours and 33 minutes without food or water today. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Method and madhab

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Finding the qibla

Face south-east — roughly 134° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. That puts the Kaaba roughly 4,413 km — 2,742 miles — from here.

From Fajr to Isha

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:15 am. The window stays open until sunrise, 7:19 am. Dhuhr follows at 12:04 pm once the sun has tipped past its highest point, and Asr at 2:57 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 4:48 pm; Isha is the last, at 6:18 pm. That is some 9 hours and 29 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Isha to Fajr

Between Isha at 6:18 pm and Fajr at 5:15 am there are about 10 hours and 57 minutes. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

The yearly swing

Neumünster is far enough north that calculated Fajr and Isha times become unreliable around midsummer, when twilight lasts all night. Most communities this far up adopt a local ruling for those weeks; ask at your mosque. Outside that stretch, the ordinary calculation applies.
