Prayer Times in Fulda, Germany

The prayer day in Fulda

As things stand today, the first prayer in Fulda is at 5:15 am and the last at 6:30 pm. They are not fixed — the sun moves them a little every day, and the page keeps up on its own.

Lining up with the Kaaba

Turn south-east, about 130°, for the qibla. Makkah is around 4,168 kilometres (2,590 miles) away in a straight line.

Fulda today, prayer by prayer

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:15 am. By 7:09 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Dhuhr 12:05 pm, Asr 3:13 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib is prayed at 5:00 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:30 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 9 hours and 51 minutes.

Season by season in Fulda

There is a caveat to the summer timetable in Fulda. For several weeks around the solstice the sun does not dip deep enough for a true Fajr or Isha, and the calculated values become estimates. Local scholarly guidance takes over in that period.

Suhoor and iftar in Fulda

Stop eating by 5:15 am; break the fast at 5:00 pm. That is about 11 hours and 45 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

The last third of the night

Fulda gets roughly 10 hours and 45 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

The calculation behind them

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.
