Prayer Times in Hamburg, Germany

Prayer times in Hamburg

There are around 9 hours and 36 minutes between sunrise and sunset in Hamburg today. None of the five are fixed to the clock — they follow the sun, and the sun keeps different hours in every month.

Isha to Fajr

Between Isha at 6:21 pm and Fajr at 5:13 am there are about 10 hours and 52 minutes. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.

Today's timetable

The first call comes at 5:13 am, for Fajr. The window stays open until sunrise, 7:15 am. Next is Dhuhr at 12:04 pm, then Asr in the afternoon at 3:01 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 4:51 pm; Isha is the last, at 6:21 pm. That is some 9 hours and 36 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

Method and madhab

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Fasting hours

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 5:13 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 4:51 pm. Around 11 hours and 38 minutes without food or water today. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

How much the times move

At this latitude, midsummer creates a real difficulty: the sky never fully darkens, so there is no moment when the sun sits far enough below the horizon to give a clear Fajr or Isha. Communities in places like Hamburg generally follow a local ruling through those weeks — the nearest large mosque or Islamic centre will have guidance. The rest of the year the calculated times work as normal.

Lining up with the Kaaba

Face south-east — roughly 133° on a compass — and you are pointed at the Kaaba. Makkah is around 4,372 kilometres (2,717 miles) away in a straight line.
